We first launched our Writer’s Hut model at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2012 where it was part of our very own Artisan Garden. The idyllic garden, designed by Woolcott and Smith, won a Silver Medal that year which we were absolutely delighted with.
Since then this little red hut has been on many an adventure, from being the writer’s retreat for Kate Humble on her farm in Monmouthshire, to attending Countryfile Live and The Purbeck Folk Festival. The stories it could tell!
For the last few years, The original little red Writer’s Hut has lived a quiet life in the garden of Jane and Richard’s holiday cottage Way’s Forge, just down the road from the Plankbridge workshop. However last week it set off on its next big adventure, arriving at the beautiful Horrell and Horrell on Friday. Here it has settled in so well that it looks like it has always been there! Since the arrival of the little hut, we have seen a wave of interest in this unique shepherd’s hut design and so have put together this blog post where you can find out more. What is the size of the Writer’s Hut?
The size of this shepherd’s hut model is 8’ by 5’ with room for a fitted desk, shelving/storage and a wood burner. If you wanted to opt for a radiator and space for a comfy armchair instead of the wood burner that is also possible.
What is the price of the standard Writer’s Hut?
This hut is £23,100 including VAT and standard delivery
What could I use the Writer’s Hut for?
Besides a writer’s retreat, as the name suggests, this lovely hut is perfect as a home office, reading room, somewhere to enjoy your tea or coffee, or your dream art studio. There are so many options and although the hut is smaller than our other models, it is still very much a multifunctional space.
