Over the years we have built exceptional huts for a range of clients, featuring everything from copper baths on outdoor decks to star-gazing rooflights. No project is too big or small. We relish a design challenge at Plankbridge and love being able to work closely with a customer to fulfil their vision. Some examples of our bespoke shepherd's huts

Elmley National Nature Reserve

Designed and built for unique holiday accommodation on the Isle of Sheppey, the examples shown are 20’ / 6.1m by 9’ / 2.7m. These are just two of 10 Custom Made designs developed with owners Georgina and Gareth which make the best of the stunning views on the reserve. The layout features a characterful double bed, glazed end wall, kitchen, bathroom and bunk beds. A cast iron radiator provides the heating. Elmley has become a much admired and successful holiday business in a short space of time.

The Pig Hotel

The multi-award winning Pig Hotels have commissioned over 20 huts from Plankbridge, from traditional sized Treatment Rooms to their large Garden Wagons. The examples shown are just 2 of 4 for The Pig at Harlyn Bay, Cornwall. At 22’ / 6.7m long by 9’6 / 2.9m wide these large huts are very much designed and built to THE PIG’s specification, clad and lined with their own reclaimed timber. They even feature a top quality cast iron bath and large indoor and outdoor showers. This is a great example of a design unique to the customer’s style and ethos.

Aller Dorset

Cat and Ant Earpe have created a very special holiday venue at Aller Farm in mid-Dorset. The four huts have been superbly interior designed by Cat, and it’s great to see how successful it has all become in such a short time. Huts are named after fields on the farm: Links, Littledown, Kittylands and Zoulands. The venue has all the magic ingredients; a lake, a famous nearby pub in the village, full amenities within the huts including shower room, full kitchen, wood burner, super comfy double bed and even quirky outdoor bathtubs. And a large sprinkling of magic touches throughout.

Swallowtail Hill

The owners of Swallowtail Hill worked closely with our designers to come up with two stunning bespoke huts for their glamping site in Sussex – a roundhouse, which has a huge picture window that frames ever-changing view of the woods, and a spacious shepherd’s hut clad in silvered oak and featuring a fully glazed end to take advantage of beautiful wildflower meadow views.

Beaucette Marina

Raised platform beds and folding bunk beds were among the design features incorporated into the four luxury Custom huts we built recently for Beaucette Marina on Guernsey, as well as a special U-shaped oak reception desk to welcome guests in the additional office hut. A very special project for a unique venue, with views looking out over Beaucette Marina and the harbour entrance towards France.

Farmstead Glamping

Created by our design team as a one-of-a-kind ‘Tiny Barn’, The Heron at Farmstead Glamping in Dorset – just a stone’s throw from the Plankbridge workshop – was clad in black weather boarding and fitted with a timber-framed mezzanine made of green Douglas fir to provide a separate sleeping area with two single beds. A prime example of an Exceptional bespoke project from our skilled and innovative design team.
