Now that it is Summer here in the UK and many of us will be making the most of our outdoor spaces, we have rounded up a few of our favourite huts that our customers use as garden rooms…
Pool house
This charming shepherd’s hut is painted in a shade from our very own colour chart, Oak Apple, and sits beside the natural swimming pond in garden designer Matthew Childs’ idyllic private garden. It even featured on the cover of Vanity Fair Italia last year, and we can see why.
Fisherman’s hut
This Snug shepherd’s hut functions as a home office and fisherman’s studio for one Plankbridge customer in North Dorset. Tucked away at the bottom of his garden, it makes the perfect retreat for this most gentle and relaxing of pastimes.
Reading room
This lovely open-plan Cabin with double doors that overlook the garden is used as a tranquil reading room by its owners – a clever example of how, by sourcing your own vintage furniture, you can really get creative with an open-plan hut design.
A place to watch the sun go down
This traditional Snug hut with double doors is used as a calming retreat for the owners to enjoy a gin and tonic as the sun sets over their duck pond. Catch up on the story behind this particularly memorable hut by watching Richard’s Musings from the Pondside episode here
Artist’s studio
Our smallest hut model is the delightful Writer’s Hut which measures just 8ft x 5ft but has copious amounts of charm. The Writer’s Hut below is used as an artist’s studio and was designed to give the customer exactly what she wanted from her studio hut – a fitted kneehole desk with cupboards, shelving at both ends and a window overlooking the neighbouring fields. Perfect.
