A splash of luxury
Handcrafted in our Dorset workshop, these idyllic shepherd’s huts not only come equipped with every modern comfort but also have their own private shepherd’s huts with hot tubs. Read on for a round-up of our favourite places to stay this summer…
Farmstead Glamping, Dorset
A family-run dairy farm is the bucolic setting for this multi-award-winning retreat. The beautifully decorated Pleasant Pheasant and Happy Hare both have wood-burning shepherd’s hut hot tubs – perfect for enjoying views of the Dorset countryside and soaking the day away. If you listen carefully you might even hear the resident woodpecker!
What guests say: ‘Completely secluded location with absolutely everything you need… The facilities all worked flawlessly, and the wood-fired hot tub was amazing – extremely warm until the early hours of the morning. Couldn’t recommend this place enough. One for the bucket list.’
Nancy Blackett, Somerset
For the full ‘leave the world behind’ experience, Nancy Blackett hut takes some beating. Located on its own private island, with water all around to watch the abundant wildlife, row over to another island, lounge on the day bed or light a campfire, it also has a wood-fired hot tub for perfect relaxation. You’ll literally float from morning coffee on the deck, to day bed, to campfire, to hot tub, to bed.
What guests say: ‘Wow, wow, wow, what a fantastic location and place to spend the weekend. The place is so great; we arrived Friday afternoon and couldn’t believe our eyes. The bedroom on its island is brilliant, cosy but plenty of room, the hot tub outside is one of the best I’ve used. You can’t put a price on the night views here.’
Foxton Locks Lodges, Leicestershire
Enjoy a spot of star gazing and let the bubbles soothe away life’s stresses and strains at this perfectly cosy retreat in the Leicestershire countryside. Each shepherd’s hut comes with floor-to-ceiling windows to take in the views and a log burner to take the chill off summer evenings.
What guests say: ‘The views from the Bluebell shepherd’s hut windows were stunning –open-ended countryside – and we gazed up at beautiful starry nights with the fire pit burning. All the special thoughts such as the proper log burner, the hot tub, the BBQ and the fire pit just enhance this little hut so much.’
Moonbow Escapes, Devon
Don’t worry if you’ve forgotten to pack a robe for the hot tub – along with everything else in these two luxury shepherd’s huts at Moonbow Escapes, the owners have thought of everything, including binoculars for bird watching. With a local wood as a backdrop and breath-taking views over the Devon countryside, you’ll find it very difficult to leave at the end of your stay.
What guests say: ‘The most enchanting and idyllic little hideaway from reality. The hut is so beautifully decorated, with all the little things you need for a lovely stay.’
Laverstock Farm, Dorset
After relaxing in the wood-fired hot tub in your own private meadow on this beautiful working farm, pull up a couple of lordship chairs outside your shepherd’s hut, unwind by the firepit and enjoy being totally immersed in nature.
What guests say: ‘The shepherd’s hut is perfect – the bed is so comfortable and they welcome dogs which is great. The little extras that the owners provide, such as flowers in the hut and fresh eggs from the farm, are a lovely touch, and the setting is stunning.’
