If you’ve been following us on Instagram recently you will have spotted our little red Writer’s Hut trundling along the Dorset lanes to take up residence next to the beautiful old cow barn at Horrell & Horrell in Sparkford, Somerset – a very special micro dining experience that uses seasonal produce gathered from the very best local farmers, growers and bakers.
It’s the latest adventure for our little hut, which was handcrafted for our Dorset-inspired garden at RHS Chelsea Flower Show back in 2012 (the author Tracey Chevalier was in residence in the hut) and has since travelled from Thomas Hardy’s cottage in Dorset to Kate Humble’s farm in Monmouthshire. We doubt there are many shepherd’s huts that have kept such great company and are quite so well travelled!
‘Steve and I have always loved a shepherd’s hut so we are really thankful for our lovely new friends at Plankbridge for entrusting us with this beautiful Writer’s Hut,’ Jules Horrell tells us. ‘We’ll be using it as a micro barn shop, selling handmade goodies and gifts for the festive season.’
We think that sounds perfect – and a lovely resting spot before the little red Writer’s Hut sets off on its next exciting adventure in the spring. Watch this space!
