Stay: Leaping Lamb, Southdowns Farm

This 18ft Guest House hut is nestled amongst wildflowers and grazing sheep on Drews Farm, a working farm just 15 minutes walk from the train station. The bed has an orthopaedic mattress, the ensuite is fully plumbed into the mains water supply. All the energy supplying the hut comes from solar panels on the roof of the big barn nearby. A fire pit is outside with chairs to enjoy the sunset and ambience on the farm. Relax outside taking in the views of the valley and up to Stansted wood.

We stayed at the Shepherd’s hut for a peaceful romantic break. It was everything we asked for and more! Anna was very helpful and responded quickly, she went out of her way to make our stay special. Would highly recommend and definitely visit again!

My partner and I stayed for a few days over the Easter break and the Leaping Lamb was a great peaceful getaway. The hut was cosy and equipped with everything you would need for a few days. Anna even had details of walking trails and local recommendations that we found useful. Spending evenings in the tub looking over nature was wonderful, highly recommend a stay!
